Honey Garlic Glazed Halibut

Ingredients:

  • 4 halibut fillets (about 6 ounces each)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)

  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)

  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger (optional)

  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

  • Chopped green onions (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Marinade:

    • In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and grated ginger (if using). Set aside.

  2. Season the Halibut:

    • Pat the halibut fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.

  3. Cook the Halibut:

    • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the halibut fillets to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown.

  4. Add the Glaze:

    • Carefully flip the halibut fillets and pour the honey garlic mixture over them. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, basting the fish with the glaze as it cooks. The halibut should be opaque and flake easily with a fork when done.

  5. Serve:

    • Remove the halibut from the skillet and place it on a serving platter. Drizzle any remaining glaze from the skillet over the top. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish.

  6. Enjoy:

    • Serve the honey garlic glazed halibut with steamed rice or vegetables for a complete meal.

Tips:

  • You can marinate the halibut in the honey garlic mixture for 30 minutes to enhance the flavor.

  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey according to your taste.

Enjoy your delicious Honey Garlic Glazed Halibut!
